Donald Murphy
Donald
S.Murphy, Ph.D. is the Principal of Renewal Strategies, LLC. Renewal
Strategies is a consulting business providing solutions for improving
the results of individuals, groups, and organizations.
Dr. Murphy
serves as a leadership coach. He works with leaders, managers,
and management teams to develop high performance capabilities.
He has extensive experience coaching a range of individuals including
high talent individuals, middle managers and executives in organizations
such as SAP America, CIGNA, ACE USA, CertificatesNow.Com, AmeriQuest,
Day & Zimmermann, The Rosen Group, Corcentric.com, Nordling Dean
Electric Co. Virtua-West Jersey Health System, Crum & Forster.
Dr. Murphy's
coaching approach begins with extensive assessment and continues
with the development of the individual's personal awareness and
interpersonal competence.
His unique
approach also provides each individual with the opportunity to
learn and master PRACTICES IN LEADING high productivity organizations
and work groups. The approach emphasizes an individual development
plan that is fitted to support each organization's leadership
needs. The coaching is focused on opportunities for learning from
implementing. It provides periods of individual learning about
PRACTICES IN LEADING and in-depth learning from regularly scheduled,
focused coaching sessions.
Don's organization
development approach to leadership development results in more
personal awareness, new knowledge, skills and behaviors in timeframes
that surpass therapeutic, traditional training and coaching interventions.
It results in competencies that enable leaders to manage and to
create work environments conducive to high productivity and motivation.
He brings this perspective from over 25 years of experience in
organization and management development roles working with leaders,
senior managers, and executives in organizations including CIGNA
and American Express.
Don is currently
an instructor in the graduate program at the Fox School of Business
and Management at Temple University. He teaches courses related
to strategic management of human resources and leadership development.
He also conducts workshops related to leadership for corporate,
nonprofit and educational institutions.
He earned
his Ph.D. in organization behavior from Temple University in 1995.
He completed his MBA from Pace University (1973) and received
formal training in psychology and counseling as part of his bachelor's
degree at Saint Joseph's Seminary and College in New York (1967).
Don is a
member of the International Coach Federation, American Society
for Training and Development, Human Resources Planning Society,
Organization Design Forum, Organization Development Network, Chamber
of Commerce of Southern Jersey, and New Jersey Technology Council.
